Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management is a fundamental element of all product launches and sustainability.

At CW Applied Technology, our supply chain management system ensures cost competitiveness and high levels of responsiveness. High inventory turns and increased flexibility are the fundamental factors that make an agile and scalable supply chain a critical part of your success. Our combination of people, our manufacturing process control and ERP software creates a highly responsive supply chain management system which drills down through multi-level, complex Bills of Material reaching each discrete component as well as each manufacturing work centre. Our ERP system runs a full MRP and capacity planning schedule on a nightly basis, updating to include any alterations to the availability of raw material and our capacity as well as our customers expedites and de-expedites.
Coordinating multiple sources and vendors can be a time-consuming and challenging process. Our ERP integration model allows for detailed planning of the supply chain as part of the product development process. Our supply chain for custom items such as bespoke metal parts, cable harnesses, precision machined parts and plastic parts etc consists of partners who thrive in the low to mid-volume market.

Material Obsolescence Management

Material Obsolescence Management is a very important activity within the electronics industry and one that requires experienced and skilled operators. Material obsolescence can be of such significance that a failure to identify obsolescence issues and deal with them in a timely and appropriate way can bring manufacturing to a standstill leading to the unavailability of the finished product for at least a period until a replacement part can be designed. CW Applied Technology has many years of experience in this key activity which is at your disposal for the protection of your product.


CW Applied Technology gives greatest focus to protecting your brand and ensuring traceability on all material used in the manufacture of your product. We implement a control system to ensure we comply with strict process and material traceability requirements, both to meet the traceability expectations of customers and pass audits for compliance. Use of serial numbers, QR codes or others within the process allows us to track to PCB level. We follow a strict FIFO system with supplier batch traceability throughout the process and onward to our customers’ facility and back into our suppliers’ process.

Finished Goods Storage

Logistics is usually defined as the art and science of moving things from here to there and storing them along the way. For CW Applied Technology, a key part of serving our customers better in terms of logistics is allowing our customers to hold finished goods within our plant in order to better serve their customers, with shorter lead-times and prompt availability of product, reducing wasted transportation, motion and over-processing in the process. Logistics support is typically vital to each of our customers, we see our flexibility in terms of finished product storage is another example of intention to serve our customers and help build a unique competitive advantage for them.

RoHS compliance

CW Applied Technology maintains full compliance with the EC Directives on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS). Certificates of Compliance can be provided with our shipments of your products if required. For customers exempt from the requirements of these directives, we retain the ability to manufacture leaded products.

Workmanship to IPC-A-610C

All our operators are trained and our product assemblies manufactured to IPC-A-610C standard. IPC-A-610C (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) is the most widely used standard published by the IPC.
